Remembering the Potentials of an Old Friend

I have been friends with Frances since college. I knew back then that Frances had the potential of becoming a good leader. She was goal focused, determined and she persevered despite all the odds that may come her way. Although she was not exactly the smartest girl in class, she had good grades. Our teachers admire the way she handles the responsibilities she is given. When we graduated, Frances was a recipient of a special award for leadership. She was given such award in recognition for her valuable contribution to the school community. When she is asked who her role model is, she readily says that it has to be her mother. Her mom, who's a teacher may have done a great job in terms of performance coaching her daughter, considering how Frances is today. When Frances got her first job, she was very happy because she saw it as an opportunity to be able to help her family financially. It only took less than six months for her boss to discover her great potentials and so soon after she was hired, she was already up for regularization.
