First of all, let me apologize for being a jerk all this time. I am sorry, my child. I have been blinded by my own dreams for you that I have forgotten that it is your life, not mine. I should have known that you are no longer that little child I carried on my shoulders. You are all grown up and I know that you will make responsible choices in your life. I am sorry for being selfish and for subjecting you to unnecessary stress with all those mental training you had to endure in medical school. I should have listened to you more. Anyway, I hope it is not yet too late to make up for my shortcomings as a parent. Let me tell you how proud I am of you. Whether you become a doctor, an engineer, a teacher or an entertainer, it does not really matter as long as you are happy. You have been so kind to me, my child. From now on, I promise to be supportive of anything that you want to do with your life.
